Yes. Where appropriate and with the client’s consent, family members maybe involved in parts of the process. This is discussed beforehand to ensure the experience feels supportive and respectful for everyone involved.
These sessions involve gentle, guided conversations where individuals reflect on their life, values, memories, and what matters most to them. Some people choose to shape what they would like remembered or shared at their funeral, while others focus on stories and messages for loved ones. Sessions are conducted at a comfortable pace and recorded with consent.

Our process is designed to be thoughtful, unhurried, and collaborative, ensuring your story or living eulogy truly reflects what matters most to you.

The process typically includes:

1. Initial Conversation
We begin with a phone call to discuss your ideas, intentions, and what you would like to create.
2. Time estimate & quote
Based on this conversation, we provide a time expectation and personalised quote.
3. Service agreement
Once you choose to proceed, we provide a service agreement, so expectations, timelines, and terms are clear for everyone.
4. In-person Session
A session is scheduled, often half-day or full day, some go multiple days depending on what is required. This is where stories are shared and recorded.
5. Writing & Drafting
Following the session, the writing process begins. This can take up to two weeks, depending on scope.
6. First draft & review
You receive the first draft to review, and we meet or talk again to discuss any changes or refinements.
7. Final approval & presentation
Once you are happy, the final version is prepared and professionally presented – this may include:

  • Printed keepsake
  • Quality stationery
  • Hard-cover book (by arrangement)
  • Digital

8. Delivery & follow-up
Your completed legacy is sent to you, followed by a final call to ensure it has arrived safely and to gather your feedback.

Engaging in legacy writing, living eulogies, or end-of-life reflections can be a deeply meaningful and emotional experience.
As part of our service:

  • We offer a check-in conversation after your story or eulogy has been completed and delivered.
  • This provides space to reflect, ask questions, and talk through any feelings that may arise.
  • Care is taken to ensure the process feels contained, respectful, and supportive.
  • Where additional emotional or counselling support is needed, this can be discussed and arranged separately, or we can assist with referrals to appropriate support services.
  • Our aim is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and supported, both during the process and after your legacy has been completed.

Once the scope of work and quote are agreed:

  • A 50% deposit is required confirm you’re booking. This covers preparation time and any travel arrangements.
  • The remaining balance is due on the day we meet with you to collect your stories.
  • Printing and presentation options are discussed in advance and included in the agreed cost where applicable.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to reschedule phone check-ins, visits, counselling, or supervision sessions. For legacy services and travel-based bookings, a deposit is required and is retained for cancellations within 21 days of the scheduled appointment. Full details are available in our Terms & Conditions.

For Legacy stories, living eulogies, and some in-person services offered outside our local area, Circle of Care may schedule multiple client appointments within the same region over one or two days.
This approach allows travel time and costs to be shared across several bookings, helping keep services more accessible and cost effective.
Where shared travel applies:

  • Appointment dates are coordinated in advance.
  • Travel costs are outlined clearly as part of your quote.
  • Your individual session remains private, unhurried, and fully confidential.

We will always discuss travel arrangements with you before confirming your booking, ensuring transparency and mutual agreement.

No. Legacy writing is about celebrating life’s moments, milestones, and meaning, not age or stage.

Whether you are reflecting on a full life, navigating change, or simply wanting to capture what matters most right now, this work honours the experiences, values, and stories that make your journey uniquely yours.

No artistic skill is required. Interactive drawing therapy is a guided counselling approach focused on expression and reflection. Particularly when words are difficult to find. Participation is always optional and client led. Not creating artwork.
